Interesting Facts:
- The name Guaramiranga means "red bird" in the native Tupi language

- The town is known by its many cultural events, mostly fancy and cult choices, for the ones who prefer to stay far away from the messy Carnival of the region

- Fernando de Mendonça, important name of the Brazilian Space Program who also worked with NASA was born in Guaramiranga 

- Guaramiranga is located in Baturité Mountain Range, which makes its temperature more pleasant and not so hot as many other towns in Ceará

History of Guaramiranga: 
The lands where today is Guaramiranga were inhabited by various ethnic groups. The main one was the Kanyndé. The region grew with evangelisation groups and later with the cultivation of coffee.

Interesting Facts
- Ubatuba is one of the 15 municipalities of São Paulo to be considered "balneário" (a kind of "seaside" title) which grant to it more investments.

- It was probably in Ubatuba that Hans Staden was taken captive by local Indians in the XVI Century.

- There are more than a hundred beaches in Ubatuba, among the land and islands.

- The successful TAMAR project  was developed in the 70's in Ubatuba to save the sea turtles.

- At Anchieta island a State Prision used to be active until a great rebellion took place resulting in more than a hundred deaths. Today the island is a state park.
