São Luiz do Paraitinga (São Paulo, Brazil)

The coat of arms of São Luiz do Paraitinga is formed by a golden mural crown (which is wrong in the Portuguese heraldry because it is not a capital city, so it should be silvered) with three towers representing a village, a blue shield with Saint Louis of Toulouse inside (the patron saint) and a white flow of water in the centre of it representing the river Paraitinga which crosses the town and down bellow the banner with the name of the town.

State: São Paulo
Country: Brazil

My Commentary: What I like in São Luiz do Paraitinga is different from the popular opinion. On the contrary of most people, I don't like the popular Carnival Marchinhas, I like the location of town and the ambience of tranquillity and peace which is there. The possibility of much contact with nature is another positive point to this town.

Anthem of São Luiz do Paraitinga:
Lyrics: Didi Andrade

Neste canto que é um eco vibrante
Nós aplaudimos com amor varonil
São Luiz para nós um gigante
Pedacinho do nosso Brasil!

Cantam as aves e o sol no nascente
Cantam o céu, as estrelas e o mar
Para ti, São Luiz refulgente
Neste dia de glória sem par!

Paraitinga, Paraitinga
Engalanada de flores e luz
Seus filhos louvam e cantam ainda
Berço natal de Oswaldo Cruz - bis

Aclamemos com amor e ufania
Teu alegre e distinto cenário
E que cresça de dia após dia
Teu progresso em dourado sacrário

Lutaremos por tua vitória
Te elevamos, oh terra gentil!
E assim ficarás na história
De São Paulo e do Brasil!

Neste canto que é um eco vibrante
Nós aplaudimos com amor varonil
São Luiz para nós um gigante
Pedacinho do nosso Brasil!

Cantam as aves e o sol no nascente
Cantam o céu, as estrelas e o mar
Para ti, São Luiz refulgente
Neste dia de glória sem par!

Paraitinga, Paraitinga
Engalanada de flores e luz
Seus filhos louvam e cantam ainda
Berço natal de Oswaldo Cruz - bis

Trip to São Luiz do Paraitinga 2008
My Commentary: I went with my family to first visit a place named Refúgio das 7 Cachoeiras (Haven of the Seven Waterfalls) in São Luiz do Paraitinga and we found out that is a very relaxing place, in total contact with the nature and made specially to provide this kind of experience to the guests. After leaving there, we went to the urban area of  São Luiz do Paraitinga and I took some pictures.
